is running Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, you might want to know what the 3D Object folder in File Explorer is doing. This folder contains 3D projects you can use in applications such as Paint 3D or Mixed Reality Viewer. By default, items you have processed in a 3D application will be saved in the 3D object folder. When the folder is sorted in alphabetical order, it is the first folder in the list.
If you are not a designer or creator, you may just want to get rid of the folder, so more important folders needed to be close to the top of the hierarchy of the folder system.
As the name suggests, Windows 10 is pushing the tool for the creator of the digital content contained in the 3D object folder. You can find it in the file resource manager in this PC.
You can get rid of the folder by deleting a folder. Instead, you need to do some work in the registry.
Press the keyboard shortcut Windows button + R to open the Run box, then type: regedit and click OK or press Enter.
Now, navigate to the following in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMICROSOFTWINDOWSCURRENTVERSIONEXPLORMYCOMPUTERNAMESPACE expands it, then finds the {0DB7E03F-FC29-4DC6-9020-FF41B59E513A} key and deletes it.
Next, go to the following path:
Again, find and delete the {0DB7E03F-FC29-4DC6-9020-FF41B59E513A} key, and then click OK. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWOW6432Node MicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerMyComputernamespace
Now close the registry editor and file browser (if you have already opened). Restart the file resource manager, and then click “This PC”, “3D Object” folder should disappear.
Keep in mind that you don’t need to manually navigate to each registry location displayed above. You can simply copy the path and paste into the address field at the top of the registry editor. For more information, see how to find an article on how to find registry locations in Windows 10.
